Air France - No Way Down

This weekend was 130 pounds of fun–Matt came to visit. Sitting next to him on my poorly-designed loveseat has allowed the realization that he is leaving to really sink in, especially as we planned the details of our cross-country road trip. It's going to suck having him so far away from me for the next few months, but I deal with it knowing there will be plenty of video-chatting and Star Trek: Voyager.

On an even more positive note, I'm extremely excited about our United States "trek". I've never been farther west than Chicago, so I'm anxious to see what the Wild West is like; though I'm told not to be too eager to see Nebraska–it's supposedly just as bland as it seems.

The Tentative Route:
Day One: Cleveland to Iowa City
Day Two: Iowa City to North Platte
Day Three: North Platte to Denver (with the pleasant little detour of Carhenge thrown in)
Day Four: Denver to Twin Falls
Day Five: Twin Falls to Seattle

We then spend 3 days, 2 nights in Seattle–possibly one of those in Portland–before moving Matt in at Pullman. I will see pretty much everything worth seeing in a week (California being the clear exception). I think the only thing the trip is lacking in is a substantial quantity of tacky tourist traps. Carhenge in Nebraska and the UFO watchtower in Salt Lake City are all I can find, at the moment.
